On Break

I'm taking a break from blogging as of today. I am sooo catching up with my life right now. Schoolworks left and right, duties and responsibilities that I need to attend to and a family that I should give attention to are those which I want to catch up with.

Stress in school is sooo exhausting. It's Christmas vacation but I can't feel it because of schoolworks! They are sooooo many! I would love to blog about things that has been happening in my life but they are indeed a lot and I have no time to blog just yet. Dear diary, please wait till I get over with everything. I'll be back to blog again. I hope. For now, I have to give you up so that I'll be able to focus on more things in my life. I love you and you know that.

I am seriously hoping that I won't have to delete this blog due to my business. I am about to delete it but I can't so I'm just going to take a break and maybe relax myself for a while from the blogging world. When I have the proper time soon, I'll post everything that needs to be posted.

But even if I'm leaving this blog for a while, please know that I would still read fashion blogs as well as update my facebook account and maybe post some looks in lookbook if ever I have one. :) Thanks bye. :)

Just Like Bugs

My first time to try nail art and I must say that I really liked it! :)

Last November 30, 2011, Eye Nail Salon located in Vito Cruz offered 50% off on all services for their holiday sale. My friend, Tiffany, has been a regular and everytime she changes her nail designs, I always get fascinated by the cool outcome. I was so excited to try it out. Thank God for the sale! :)

So we went there, I had my nails done while Tiff had her eyebrows trimmed and I chose this ladybug like design that I saw. I didn't expect this too be so cute! :) I'm glad I tried it out and I just can't stop staring at it the night after I had it done. :) The crew inside the salon were so nice that I had a nice time talking to them. The ambiance of the salon was sooo relaxing and they even played songs that would really relax your senses. :) The treatment took for about an hour in my estimation and I went out of the salon as a satisfied and happy costumer! :)

When I went to school the day after, my blockmates and friends noticed them and they said that they're really cute! They asked how much since they even want to try it out and they said that it's a good price. Not that expensive! :) I don't know if I'll have the opportunity again because of the schedule that I got but if ever I'll be available soon, I'll avail again coz I really like them. :)

I marked the date November 30, 2011 as my first nail art day! :)

Scents and Steps

It has been a daily routine for me to use perfume before I go to school ever since I started going to college and this is what I'm using right now. :)

I don't know where I got it. I just know that someone gave it to my mom years ago and I asked her for it. I only got to use it at this time because I don't like using perfume when I was still in highschool. It's kinda amazing that the scent that I loved never changed. It's a perfume but it's scent is girly but is not over the top:)

And now for a must-have for school, flats! Every student needs a even just a pair of flats in her possession. Flats are very comfortable and they are actually our foundation whenever we are required to walk a lot. As for me, I walk a lot everyday since my classes are from Pedro Gil to Padre Faura. I am also taking Chemistry classes and open toe shoes are not really required inside the laboratory. These flats really helped me.:)

It's actually a new purchase since I have to give up one of my flats because of the terrible fate it experienced here in Manila. :( Manila is always prone to floods and it actually makes me upset because of the fact that i have to deal with them while no action is being done. :( But after years of staying in Manila, I learned to get used to it. On the bright side, it's a great pleasure having this unique and stylish flats. :)

I am actually becoming more and more busy because of school. I just hope I would still have the time to update this. Take care!

Happy Lunch at Greenwich

Start of my food posts! :) I guess I'll be doing this more often. Starting to blog about food from the start of my second semester in UP is indeed a good idea! I'm enjoying this one. :)

So me and my friends decided to eat in Greenwich Pedro Gil. :) People know that Greenwich really serve delicious food at an affordable price! :) We went there because we were craving for that Php99 meal but there has been a change of plans when we got there. :)

My friends suggested that we get this Blue Sprite tower so that we'll save more money for the drinks. Since we already ordered drinks, we decided to now order the Php99 combo because the combo already offer softdrinks and it would be the same price even if we request that they would not include drinks anymore.

So we decided to ate these...

Say hi to my lunch for today! :) Full size Lasagna by Greenwich! Abby and Hannah got this too. :) It actually tasted good and the combination of pasta and bread clicked! :) I miss eating these stuff and I hope I would be able to eat them again soon. :)

Tetel ordered a macaroni salad as side dish to her carbonara. :)

Blue Sprite Tower. I actually remembered Percy when I saw this because it's blue! :) We ordered two towers and we only paid Php20 each! I drank almost 4 glasses of sprite and my friends were the same so I would say that this is really for group of friends like us! :)

Food tripping with friends will always be something to look forward to always. :) Do the same!

Day 13 Picture: A Picture of Your Favorite Band

If you have known me for years, you would probably recognize me as someone who loves RNB most of the time. I only listen to few bands and these are those bands. They became my favorites for quite a long time and no other bands replaced them in my heart ever since.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 is definitely a band that never failed to make me feel like partying everytime I hear their music. I am actually not the type of girl who sings songs originally sang by guys but Maroon 5 music is actually an exception! I can just sit for more than 2 hours just listening and singing along with their songs! The beat from their songs are just amazing and each song has a unique feature in it!

Paramore

Yes. I know they're disbanded already but one thing's for sure. Paramore will always be my all-time favorite. Their music is amazing in a way that it keeps me singing almost all the time! The instruments really have one-of-a-kind coordination and I could feel that they are made for me to appreciate rock! Hayley's voice also inspired me to sing more because just listening to her songs makes me want to sing rock too. Paramore really made a big contribution in my love for music.

The Fray

I love the way the make their lyrics. Like every word is made to sink into everyone's heart. Their songs always have meanings that even I can feel everytime I listen.I think their songs actually helped me a lot in realizing my mistakes in the past. :)

The Script

I love The Script because their songs never fail to make me smile. Well yes, they actually appeared during a critical time of my life so maybe that's another reason why I value their songs. But the best reason for my love for them is because their songs are not boring, they mean a lot to me, the music is obviously original since the first time I heard their songs, I actually told myself that they are very talented because they were able to make songs that don't resemble the other bands'. It's been a long time since I have known them but I never lost my liking for their songs.

I am not really a band listener but I am surprised that my answers came out easily! Maybe because I really love these bands that much. :) I hope you like them too!

P.S. Any bands that you want to recommend? I'm planning on listening to more band music. :)

This is technically the second look that I have created in looklet.com but I was not able to post it immediately because my account encountered some technical problems during the time that I was just about to share it. I'm glad that my creation was saved! Thanks to looklet.com's autosave feature. :)

I actually don't have an idea on what type of look to make during the time that I made this. I just have this urge to design something but I don't know what it is. Do you experience that too? But I found this green dress that I think is an understatement but fashionable at same time. I decided to create the outfit from there.

So this is the result of my random urge to do something:

Brown over Brown over Brown! I found this really unique sweater and I know I just had to place it in this look to make it more interesting and I was glad that the model remained sexy regardless of the design of the sweater. Since the sweater is made of those threads, I feel like if I'll be seeing this outfit for the first time, I will be curious on the design inside! :) As for the pants, I actually had a hard time looking for the perfect pants until I saw this one. Brown great fitting pants! It looks so chic that it can be used in dressing up and dressing down at the same time!

I used a green clutch to match the dress inside the sweater. I hope it worked. :) The clutch is really cool! :) For the shoes, I chose these sky high wedges because they really catched my attention at first sight and I suddenly felt that it would compliment the whole outfit. :)

For the accessories, I tried looking for stylish necklaces and I was able to come across these! For me, these necklaces really made the outfit more eyecatching! I also used dangling earrings and gold bangles to dress up the outfit. :) and may I just say that I love the make-up of the model in here! Sooo stylish! :)

I hope you liked it. I might not be able to make more looks for some time since school is keeping me busy but when a long weekend comes (I hope so), I'll try making more looks. :)

Dots All Over

The polka dot trend is actually coming back! :) I know it's something that's been recognized years ago (maybe decades) but if you'll notice the trend would just appear once in a while. It might actually never go out of style!

Since I love polka dots and print-on-print look so much, I decided to do it on Looklet. This is the look that I came up with.

For this look, I combined different polka dot prints in colors blue, black and red. Since the top is already eyecatching because of its colors, I decided to tone down the outfit a bit by using a black polka dot skirt.

I also used accessories that won't contrast the colors of the fabric. I just have to place a red belt so that the red colar and sleeves won't be out of place. I also used dark blue necklaces and earrings, silver bangles and watch to make the look more classy and stylish at the same time. I stuck with the neutral color white for the shoes and bag to make the look appeal as something that stylish professionals should wear. :)

As you can see, I preferred a model with light makeup only because this type of outfit actually needs an almost bare face to an overdone look.

Start of Something New

Random me is random. Okay. Technically people say that the pictures that you take somehow represents what you feel. I agree. Since blogging has been a bit difficult for me since school is so taking up my time (which is ofcourse understandable), I decided to post some of the pictures that I have taken recently because I guess they are parts of my feelings right now.

My awesome brother did this weeks ago and I guess I am so touched since he said that he loves his brother. :) Brotherly love.

I felt girly one day during sembreak and decided to wear my favorite nail color of all time. RED! For this one, I used Chic Nail Polish in Persian Red. I got it inside SM Supermarket.

Feeling very happy while reading Percy Jackson and The Olympians - The Lightning Thief for the fourth time! I'm actually rereading the whole series! But I stopped after reading The Sea of Monsters since I don't want to neglect my school stuff. I guess I'll continue when the opportunity comes.

I just felt like this Robinson Entrance will be a big part of my life. I've been seeing/using it for like 5 years.

Tired of walking and I felt like taking a picture of my jeans with the pebbled background. Haha.

First rose that I received in college. Well it's not that special since it's just a giveaway but still, firsts are firsts right? :)

Nights of reading and studying and reading and studying.... and I feel like my eyebags can't take it anymore but I guess I have to sacrifice my physical appearance first. I just have to survive this sem in a good way and if possible, with flying colors. I hope. :)

An awesome dinner that I had with Cheska and Abby in Greenwich one night. This is my favorite food from Greenwich and it only costs Php99! Sulit na sulit! :)

End of pictures. On the other hand, I'm planning on making this blog better. It won't be the so-random-basta-kung-anong-malagay-sa-blog type anymore. I'll be posting pictures of food, pictures that I usually take, some outfit pictures(if that's still possible with the tight sched that I have). I'll be making this blog better to raise it's quality and I'll be more selective on the pictures that I will post. This will be a food/fashion/book/typical life blog. :) I hope my posts will be appreciated. :)

I was in total amazement when I saw this! Creating a 3D art from a 2D surface is something that's very artistic! This seriously required pure talent and skill! I was starstrucked with the output and even the process of making it!

How To Make A Break Worth It

Today is the last day of my sembreak. I can't believe it! Tomorrow, I'm starting a new chapter of my college life (or should I saw part of the first chapter of my college life since I'm still in first year) since tomorrow's the first day of the second semester! New subjects, new professors, new schedule, more units, oh college life. Please be kind. I wan't to be better this time. *fingers-crossed*

Even though the break only took place for about three weeks since our first semester was extended due to numerous class suspensions because of typhoons, I must say that I was satisfied by the way I have spent it and I could say that I never got bored even for just a day!

So maybe I spent this break right and I'm off to share with you some tips on how to make any break (from school, from work, etc etc etc) memorable and worth it.

Tip no. 1: Plan your activities

Have an outline (even just in your mind) about the things that you want to do on a break. Think about those things that you don't have time doing when in school. Maybe the break is the perfect time to do those stuff!

As for me, everytime I experience a whim to do something (like watch dvds, play games, read my favorite books, learn cooking or driving, etc.) during school days and I know that I just can't insert all of those in my loaded schedule so I told myself that I'll do those things on my sembreak. I noted those, together with some unfinished business, in my mind and fortunately, I was able to achieve a few during the break! :)

Here are some of the activities that I'm talking about and that I would like to recommend:

Activity no. 1: Read some books.
If you've been following my blog long enough, you'll know that I'm a certified book lover. I always look forward to breaks just to read the books that I've been longing to read. This time, I read three books for three weeks. Maybe you might want to read them too. :)

Activity no. 2: Watch some movies.

Gather those dvds, and have a movie marathon with your relatives or friends. There are movies that have been in the cinemas during your busy days and the sembreak's the perfect time to watch all of those! based from experience, a break spent with so many dvds feels very fulfilling and worthwhile. I've watched almost 10 movies during this break! :)

Also check the cinemas. There might be some good movies that you might want to watch. Ofcourse it really feels different if you've watch a good movie inside a cinema than inside a room with a dvd player. :) These are some of the movies that I've watched and I would like to recommend.

Activity no. 3: Travel and visit some places.

Go back to a province of a family member or if you have no plans, look for some near places that are worth the visit. Don't just stay at home and act like a couch potato. If you can't fine a single place to visit, atleast join some family member in their simple trips to the mall or to the market. The important thing is that you should go out and see the world during breaks!

Activity no. 4: Play some games.
Try playing some games that you haven't tried. I just tried playing Plants vs Zombies, and Angry Birds recently and I really had fun!

Activity no. 5: Go shopping.
Buy the stuff that you were not able to buy when you're busy. Ask your friends and relatives for some stores that are worth the visit. Search the net for upcoming bazaars. As for me, I went to the SuperSale Bazaar last week. I even blogger about it in here. Go find a shopping buddy now! If you have none, then take the shopping time as a time for yourself. It's worth it!

Activity no. 6: Clean Up! :)
Check your closet, your house, your stuff! Some might be in a mess while you're at worth. The break's the perfect time to clean up! If you have many clothes, sort them now so that next semester, you'll have a lot of outfits to wear. Same thing with the shoes, bags, etc. While sorting out, take note of the things that you still don't have so that you could buy them when you have the time.

Activity no. 7: Spend time with the significant ones.
Spend the free time bonding with your family and even friends. :) Don't let a year pass without you updating yourselves! That would be awkward!

Spend time with God! If you're not the religious type, now's the time to be one! Go to church, pray, hear mass! :) If you are, well that's good. Keep it up! :) God is the best significant one in everyone's life.

Activity no. 8. Help others.
If you have some skills that you can use to help others. Use it! As for me, I went back to MaSci for a few days just to help in teaching my former schoolmates for an upcoming competition. :)

Activity no. 9: Know what's happening.
Gain knowledge on what's happening around you. Don't let walls surround you like you're in Big Brother's House just because you don't know what's happening outside! You deserve to know what happens outside.

Activity no. 10: Improve your talents and skills.
Whatever talent or skill that you have, take the break as an opportunity to practice! Who knows, you might discover another! In my situation, I posted more on those ever since the break began because I really want to improve my writing more in preparation for our upcoming second course in Communication. :) I made a looklet account because I wan't to see how I style outfits! :)

Tip no. 2: Have a place to stay

Try staying ina relative's house for a week or even overnight! Spend some time with your family and do those things that you want to do with them!

I stayed in my cousin's house which is a block away from ours this break. I've been sleeping here for nights and I never got bored. My cousins and I really had fun and my aunt even joined us. Since our house is very quiet during the day, and actually during the night, I go to my relative's house to have fun with my cousins.

Tip no. 3: Learn something new.

If you're 17 and above, perhaps you'll want to learn how to drive. The break is actually the perfect time to learn! Talk to your parents and plan on how you'll learn. You could go learn from a driving school or just have a relative teach you. Just be sure to get a student's license!

If you're not yet allowed to drive, why not learn how to cook? It's very useful, practical, and it could provide you your most serious cravings. You could also use it for others. Anything could be better if you can cook right? :) You could learn from home (from your mom or a household helper) or if you could manage it, from a short-term culinary course. :) I think some schools offer those. :)

Tip no. 4: Say yes to healthy lifestyle.

If you're a student or an employee, perhaps you can't fine time to bust some moves and lose some fat during "regular" days. Why not give the effort to wake up early in the morning, wear some shoes and go jogging? It could help you achieve the figure you want, seriously. Jogging could help you avoid producing fat that'll make you fat during those "rest" days. Invite some friends, or relatives to join you so that you won't get lazy in the process.

I've done it and I felt good after. Like I'm super healthy.

Tip no. 5: Get some sleep.

This is really important and break time is the perfect time to get it. I'm a nursing student and I have studied the adverse effects of sleep deprivation in our major subject. There are really some major adverse effects if you don't get the right amount of sleep. So grab those pillows, turn off those lights, get some sleep then wake up 7-8 hours later.

Additional Tip!! Prepare for the chapter after the break.

Yes, when you hear the word break, the first thing that comes to your mind is "relax.enjoy.eat.pray.play.etc.". Still, you should prepare for tomorrow! Take note of the things that you need, that you have to do, and you have to prepare for. Being prepared is often better than being capable. :)

I'll never get tired of seeing young girls wearing something like this.

When I was still a young girl, I always loved the color pink. I used to receive hand-me-down pink clothes, pink bag, umbrella, bracelets, necklaces and shoes. I sometimes remembered going out of the house as the little girl in pink. I don't know why but I think it's something that's very feminine and chic even though some say that pink is really for boys and blue for girls.

I was on the mood to make an outfit that's very young in nature so I came up with this. The outfit actually started with the top then I looked for pieces that will make it more appropriate for kids. I decided to stick with the pink, flesh, and white combinations and I was satisfied with the result. In the end, I really realized that those high socks contributed much in making the outfit really childish in a good way. :) The shade of lipstick and the color of the hair of the model added to the "little girl aura" of the outfit. :)

Up to now, I still love the color pink and all the colors monochromatic to it. :) I love peach, I love flesh, I love red, etc etc etc. I am even looking for a lipstick near that shade that will suit my skin color thinking that someday, I'll need it.

I hope I'll be able to find the flesh, peach, white, lace, pink clothing for me someday. :)

Beauties Who Stand Out Among The Rest

I know I've been posting so many consecutive looks from looklet and my blog has become a little monotonous. I don't want that. Then I remembered my favorite beauty queens in the Philippines. I've been a fan of beauty pageants ever since I saw them. :)

Among all the beauty queens that I have seen represent the Philippines on tv, Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj are my favorites. I love Shamcey for her charming smile and intellect. I love Venus for her awesome walk and amazing figure. :)

Today, I am about to tell my feelings about them not to compare them but to praise them. Seriously, I really think that they should not be compared! There's no competition between the two of them because they are two different individuals with really different qualities. Different ways on being beautiful and different ways of standing out. Even if they are different, they still stand for themselves beautifully in their own ways. They are both beauty queens, they are both winners and they are both women whom the Philippines is proud of.

First, with Ms. Shamcey Supsup...

I love the way she smiles. That big smile from her is an asset and I really think it's something that really helped her to be noticed by the judges. I also love her Filipina + Latina look. Seriously, if she had not worn that sash, I would have thought that she's a Latina! I love it when her facial expression changes when she walks because it adds to her sexiness. Haha. Her "tsunami" walk is indeed very unique and eyecatching. Even I who had experience joining a beauty contest for once in my life can't do that! As a religious person, I admired her more when she answered about religion in the pageant. If I would be asked that question too, I would have answered the same way.

But the greatest thing that I admire about her is her simplicity. Everyone knows that she has no plans of joining Binibining Pilipinas because modeling is not her passion. She's that girl who goes to school in simple t-shirt, jeans and sneakers just to study. She said that she's very disciplined (she also said she was nerd) and I think that's a big factor why she graduated as magna cum laude in University of the Philippines Diliman! She even ranked first in the Architecture Licensure Exam in 2010! Can you believe that? I saw her pictures during the times when she was still not a beauty queen and I could say that she's very simple and down to earth. Wala man lang arte sa katawan! Those kind of girls who are intelligent, simple and beautiful at the same time are rare species, you know. She even have a boyfriend who's very loyal and loving to her. Seriously, she has every reason to be thankful about her life. :) Seriously speaking, I really think she deserves more than a 3rd runner up ranking. No offense to the other candidates.

Whenever my laziness attacks me, I instantly remember her, and her discipline. I make her as an inspiration that a simple person like me can also be successful in the future. In my own way, of course. After that, I immediately continue what I'm doing. She's someone whom every girl should look up to and yes, she is my role model, idol, lahat na. Hahaha. :)

My next favorite is Ms. Venus Raj.

I love the way she walks! Everyone would agree if I say that her walk is definitely a head-turner! She walks with so much poise, conviction and confidence that you'll be certain that she would not fail. Her body figure is a winner too! I mean, a 22" waistline? Can you believe that? She looks like a walking hour-glass! Awesome shape! :) Her skin color is very hot too. Definitely a Filipina skin color. Morenang morena. Just so you know, I really think brown complexion is the hottest. :) I love her exotic beauty too. Ang lakas ng dating ni Venus Raj. :) I was in school when the pageant was aired on tv and the school really cheered for her! That was the time that I saw how she really walks like a model! :) Yes, she may have failed in the question and answer portion but we all know that she gave her best. It's enough that she started the coming back of Filipina winners. :)

Ian, the one who's been making my gowns and costumes for prom and contests, actually said that she came from a poor family in Bicol and she still have to earn a living just to meet up the expenses of the family. He told me that she used to practice walking in the field! How awesome is that? Rumarampa siya sa palayan! Now, that is natural talent. She is a proof that poverty is never a hindrance to success. From being a girl living in a farm to a famous beauty queen and celebrity, Venus really made a difference in her life with her family.

Two beauty queens, two winnings, two consecutive years of bringing glory to the Philippines. In the end, we should really look up and be proud that we have someone like them here in the Philippines.

Young Corporate

I was thinking of color blocking so I decided to make this look.

First I saw this yellow blouse which I really liked at first sight because it's cute then the whole outfit came after. I thought of making an office outfit with the blouse so i looked for a bright-colored wide-legged pants then I saw the red one! :) They matched! Then I looked for accessories that is still within the color palette of the outfit. Tied the model's hair in a bun for a more classy feeling. Lastly, I added matching green shoes and bag to finish the look. :)

SuperSale Bazaar - Day 1

Yesterday, I went to the SuperSale Bazaar with the hope that I will be able to buy items that I could wear next semester. Well the first reason is that a lot of fashion bloggers that I'm following will be selling their stuff! I know it's second hand that's why I took the opportunity to get some items for a low price. :)

I was not disappointed! I was able to buy 7 item even though I only brought Php1300! :) There are lots of pretty clothes in there too bad my money is not that enough to buy all those that I like but it's okay. :) I was able to tell myself to save up more for the upcoming bazaars. :)

I was able to meet my favorite fashion bloggers and I also took pictures of the place for a remembrance. Hahaha. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I took some pictures on the way to the bazaar. Feeling photographer lang pero natuwa naman ako sa kinalabasan kasi digicam lang ang gamit ko! Hahaha!

Nahihiya na nga ako nung nagtagal pero I was so glad that she's nice enough to be patient and then she really took time to ask for my name. :)

I saw Ms. Laureen Uy first but unfortunately, she left early. :( Was not able to take a picture with her. Huhuhu. Lesson learned: Magpapicture agad! Sayang talaga she was so nice to approach me first and tell me about what she's selling! I love her sweet voice and she's so pretty! :D She's also my favorite blogger! :D

Another look for today! :) Can't get enough of looklet. Hahaha! :)

I was actually confused on what style will I do. I thought of having a print on print outfit with the blouse that I used in here but unfortunately, I was not able to find a printed skirt that would blend with the print of the top. Nevertheless, I stuck to the color palette of the top and found a good pair of jeans that would give the outfit an instant omph!

Decided to do the stacked bracelets style since this outfit features bare arms. :) I realized that red is really the best color that would save a person if having difficulty what type of clothes to wear. I hope it worked out. :D Here are the photos. :)

Sembreak is about to come to an end (I've been enrolled earlier yay congrats to me) but still the enjoyment never ends. I found a new thing that I could engage in during my passtime. Designing looks! :) Since I don't have a decent camera and I'm not the type of person with fabulous clothes, creating a look from the net seems a nice way to express my style.

I made a looklet account and I started studying the features of the site. So far, the features are good but the site's soooo slow to load! :( I don't know why. Still, that didn't keep me from doing what I want.

Finally, after hours (dahil sa mabagal na net), I came up with my first look! :)

I was thinking of making a feminine look then I found the cardigan. This outfit was actually built from the cardigan. I just added the printed blouse and pink skirt to achieve the color palette that I actually love. Paired matching heels to the outfit and added cool accessories that don't contrast the color of the cardigan and voila! I hope you liked it! :)

Marie Digby

Finally got the chance to meet my girl crush, Marie Digby! :D

Last October 28, 2011, Marie Digby had her mall show in Robinsons Place Manila. I together with my sister, Jamie, and Camille fixed our schedules just to be able to see her. We actually arrived in Robinsons from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas because Manila Science High School Chorale Batch '12 sang for an oratorical contest while I acted as their ate/personal assistant hahaha. Thank God we were able to make it! :)

We arrived late and we only got to see her during the album signing but the good thing is that we were able to meet and greet her in an instant! A dream come true! :)

I think the reason why I like her so much is the fact that she's very talented (her voice is soooo WOW), beautiful and most of all she's very nice to her fans! She even gave time just to be able to talk to everyone who's approaching her! :) I love her so much! :)

I'm still looking forward to seeing her again on November 20 because she'll be going to Robinsons Imus at that time. :) I love her that much that's why I'll try to see her again and hear her wonderful voice live. :)

Thank God for that day. :)

The Son of Neptune

Yes, after 5 days, I already finished the book that I've been waiting for! It's the second book of "The Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan. It's actually a sequel of his first series "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" which I really love to pieces!

Don't worry. Since it's a series and other books are yet to come, I'm won't be spoiling my readers. Instead, I'm just going to express my feelings before, while, and after reading the book.

After reading the first book of the sequel, The Lost Hero, I had this feeling that I can't explain. I was speechless because of the mysterious events that I had read and questions kept popping inside my head. Well, I'm not typing them here to avoid spoiling people. I can't wait for the second book and I even promised myself that the moment the next book is out in the market, I'll immediately go to the bookstore, bring out my wallet, and get a copy.

At last, after months of waiting, the second book is finally out! When my sister texted me that the copy is out, I immediately went to National Bookstore and got one. I waited for the semester to end and by the time that I came home, I finished reading "The Man of My Dreams" by Curtis Sittenfeld (which I blogged about here) and started reading this book right away. I would say that before reading the book, I felt very excited and determined to read in order to update myself about Percy. For those who read the first book I know you know why I felt like this.

While reading the book, 90% of my attention was devoted. You can't blame me, for the seventh time (based on the number of Rick's books that I've read), Rick never failed to impressed me. He made the events of the book very alive, and should I say again, mysterious. There is always something new to look forward to. My imagination improved because every word that I read formed images in my mind as if I'm in the scene itself. Slowly questions were answered as I continued and my worries are slowly going away at the moment. Aside from that, I experienced flashbacks from my high school life and I remembered a line I've heard from my classmate before "Kung gusto mong makabisa at makapasa sa Greek Mythology test ng walang hirap, basahin mo ang Percy Jackson" trans. "If you want to pass the Greek Mythology test without much difficulty, read Percy Jackson". We actually studies Greek Mythology back in our third year and true enough what he said had been true. I've started reading it when I was in fourth year and I was not disappointed. I found another book that I'll love aside from Harry Potter. While reading, I appreciated Rick's way of writing more as I read. I love how he made a sequel from the Percy Jackson series. When I reached the end, worries began to go back because of what a character said near the end. I have a lot of questions but actually the biggest question that I've been pondering from the start was how Percy and Annabeth turn out in the end. But in the end, I became happy and relieved (for now).

After reading, a new aura of excitement rised in my chest. I can't wait till the next book will be released and I'll be saving up just to buy the book the moment it's released. I thank God for Rick Riordan because he's one of the writers who made me someone who loves books.

The Mark of Athena, I can't wait for you. It will take a year before I'll be able to read you but it's okay. I'll spend time reading the series from the first book of Percy Jackson up to book before you so that when you'll be released, I'll be able to recall everything.

Fall of 2012, please be quick. :) To Rick Riordan, thank you and a job well done! :) I love it!

A thing that most people don't know about me is that I once dreamnt of being a fashion designer someday but since I suck in drawing (seriously) I didn't pursue it. I actually pursued my first dream of being involved in the medical field so I took up nursing but I really want to also include fashion in my life. I used to scribble designs of clothes in scratch papers when I was a kid but I don't know where I placed them. I admit that I'm afraid that I won't be successful in the fashion industry because of the truth that you really have to make a name because it's a competitive world out there and I doubted that I would excel so much in fashion designing. I mean I just engage to it as a hobby but I actually had a hard time seeing myself living as a fashion designer because of the thought that I might not be able to go with the generation. I'm not even that reach to be able to establish a clothing line. Nevertheless, I still live my life loving fashion bu constantly visiting fashion blogs, searching fashion-related pictures, posting some looks in this blog and dreaming of being fashion icon someday. I am actually dreaming that when I become a doctor someday, I would be the fashionable doctor since I can afford to buy clothes on my own (not necessarily the expensive clothes) because as of now I can't really do that because I'm still a student and I don't earn money and I know for a fact that I can't really glam up in UP. Haha. I am also dreaming of being a ramp model even for once in my life. Seriously, everyone could dream since they are free. Haha. I hope someday I'll be one. "Hope" being the operative word.

Like I said, I follow fashion blogs and those blogs at the right side of this blog are made by some of my favorite fashion icons but my favorite fashion icon (as in favorite ABOVE ALL) is...

The Man of My Dreams (Insights)

It's our semestral break from October 21 to November 10 so I've been at home more often. It feels good to be home because I have been away for many days because I'm staying in a dorm. Despite the fact that I usually go home during weekends, I still miss our home because it's the place where I can rest and do whatever I want.

To make my sembreak productive and meaningful, I decided to read this book that my friend lent me. It's the book "The Man of My Dreams" by Curtis Sittenfeld. At first it seems like just an ordinary love story because of the title but it's actually more than that.

I just finished reading the book so I immediately decided to blog my insights about it while it's still fresh.

I'm not going to tell the plot but you can just view the plot in here. Hahaha.

At first, I admit that I was a little bored with the events of the story. The story is actually full of Hannah's moments of finding the love of her life because almost everyone whom she knows are in a relationship while she had not even experienced her first kiss. She just had her first boyfriend after college and they actually didn't work out. I first thought " Is the whole book just like this?" but I was wrong. Despite my boredom "at first", I continued reading. I just had the feeling that it will be worth it and I was right. When I reached the end, which is the best part, I learned one of the most important lessons in life that every girl should know. Love should not be rushed and love can't be found in the places where we think it can be found. Kahit lahat pa ng kakilala mo ay may boyfriend na, who cares? Hindi mo kailangang magmadali. Ibig sabihin lang niyan ay hindi ka pa handa kaya wala pang dumarating sayo. Kailangan mo pa ng training, kailangan mo pa matuto at higit sa lahat, kailangan mo pa mas mahalin ang sarili mo. Everyone experiences insecurites but still everyone is appreciated by some people in their lives. Minsan sa utak lang yang mga insecurities na yan.

Yes, I was the girl before who once dreamed of having a lovelife full of happiness just like in fairytales. That was actually years ago. Then after experiencing a heartbreak, I learned a lot and it changed me and made me who I am today. Thank God for that. :) I once thought that maybe a lot of things would last a lifetime but I was a little wrong about that. Yes, many things could last but still there are things that won't. Some won't work out and these things will leave our lives forever. As you can see, Hannah had many boyfriends but she didn't end up with any. She was the kind of girl who's dreaming of a life with "The Man of Her Dreams" by her side. But after experiencing splitting up with her past boyfriends, she learned that love is something that should not be rushed. Maaring maraming karelasyon ang dadaan sa buhay ng isang tao pero hindi naman lahat yun ay magwowork out. Kung magwork out, swerte mo kasi natuto ka na, kung hindi, may darating pa para matuto ka lalo, hanggang sa maaply mo na ang natutunan mo sa tamang tao. Kapag nangyari ito, nahanap mo na ang makakasama mo habang buhay.

I never experience rushing love so basically it's not the main thing that I focused on. What I learned is that letting go is an essential thing in life. Even if we love the person and the person loves us too, it won't always work out. Some things just get complicated in time and it's up to the couple if they will be able to fix it. Some would end up being together, some won't and some would change in the way that we least expect. Life is unpredictable. I realized that it's very uncertain if I'll end up being with someone for the rest of my life but what's important is how I live up each day of my life. I guess I'll start making my life better each day because life is indeed short and we have to compress the moments that we could experience for this limited time given by God. Every flaws in our lives should not be blamed on our past because mistakes just happen to make us learn. Minsan kahit ipilit, hindi na talaga kaya kasi hindi na rin talaga pwede. Hindi na magwoworkout at maaaring masayang lang ang buhay ng isang tao kapipilit sa bagay na hindi na talaga pwede. Hindi naman pwedeng mag-assume na may possibility na mag-end up together ang dalawang tao eh. Mahirap na Minsan kailangan na talagang pakawalan ang isang bagay para sa iba pang mas mahalagang bagay.

Life will always be full of ups and downs and we would always seek for help. I believe that this is a very healthy thing. Like what other say, no man is an island. If you need help, seek it. If you want to break down, find someone who'll listen. It actually the thing that will keep us sane and whole despite everything that happened. :) Family problems, friendship issues, love complications, yes they exist. I know it's not hard to deal with them but we have to. In the end, it's who we became after all the trials in life. Mahalagang iupdate ang mga mahahalagang tao sa buhay natin dahil mahalaga ang papel nila sa buhay natin. Masyado silang mahalaga para hindi iupdate. :) Sila rin kasi ang makakaintindi at makatutulong sa atin sa mga panahong hindi natin matulungan ang ating mga sarili.

My point is that we should not be curious about our future. We should not dwell on who will we end up with or what will we turn into after all the things that are happening. We should not rush life because it's working out on how it's supposed to be. Take it on a family basis, a family may be happy one day and falling apart on the other. We'll never know. Take it on a lovelife basis, a person can have a boyfriend/girlfriend one day and be single on another. A person might think that the one he/she is with would end up being his/her spouse but in the end they break up or maybe the person whom he/she never thought about living with just ends up being his/her love for life. Tricky isn't is? But that is the thing that we call life. We may not end up with the person that we love but still sometimes, there's nothing that we can do about it. (I'm actually referring to the extreme cases and I will not elaborate.) We just have to learn from it and move on from the pain. Take it on a friendship basis, your friend may be this person today and that person the other day. You'll never know. You might wake up one day and see your friend as someone whom you'll never think he/she will be. You could still be friends, or not. In the end, the manner on living a life matters. Being paranoid in being single is never healthy. Being so complacent is also not healthy. In the end, it's all about living life to the fullest despite of what you have and what you don't have.

It's actually healthier if you read the book itself because it has many surprises (especially in the end) my insights is never enough. I have a lot of things stuck in my head that I want to type but I actually can't express it (even in tagalog). It's a nice book for someone who's searching about different things in life. :)

One last advice: Never search for love from others. Just be ready for it but NEVER search for it. :) We will meet different persons in our life and everyone will have a role: a major or a minor one. Just appreciate what you have today. Live it to the fullest and still seek for things that will improve you. :) Being content is not the same as being complacent. Maging kuntento ka na, huwag lang maging masyadong kampante. Always strive for the good. You can be content while striving. Remember that. :)

I accidentally skipped this part. From day 9, I accidentally did Day 11 instead but because I can't miss this part, I did it right away because my life will never be complete without them. :)

I do messed up things with all my friends but I think the exceptional group whom I did the messed up things with is the chorale where I belong when I was in high school, Manila Science High School Chorale. :)

When I hear messed up things, I always think of a group not an individual because life will always be that cool of you're in a group. Yes, we may be imperfect, we make mistakes, we mess up, we experienced losing, but in the end, we are a family. Life is always filled with lessons to make us better that's why we need people around us to share each moment with us. It's always good to have friends, especially in high school because friends shows us what life has to offer. We actually become stronger because of them and we experience unusual things because of them.

Yes, we may part ways and pursue our own lives but in the end, true friendship will never be destroyed because of distance and lack of constant communication. In the end, it's our hearts that will remember every moment that we shared with each other. :)

WORDS are always NOT enough to describe true friendship. Even if I make a 1000+ word essay about them, my bond with my friends can't be fully described. Friendship is all about affection and not those flowery words. So I tell everyone to really give the best in establishing, maintaining, and protecting a friendship. :)

Give some time and value them because in the end, friends will always be there to make us feel loved and make us realize that we know how to love. :)

The Day When We All Went Together

Last Sunday, it was a typical day because the sun was shining just right but it was something special for us since after a long time, we, Rañola Family, went to Everest Hills Memorial park to visit the grave of my grandparents, titos and titas. It was actually our advanced visit for the All Soul's day because that was the best day for us to be complete. My grandpa's birthday was October 15 so we decided to go and visit him and our titos and titas the day after.

Here are some pictures that I would like to share before I make my straight-from-the-heart insight. Hahaha,.. I got sooo lazy to edit the pictures so I will just post them in here right away. XD

I think everyone should always spend time in visiting our loved ones. :) It doesn't matter if it's All Soul's Day or not, what matters is the time that each family member spends just for the sake of a family member. :) So I really believe that we should keep this in mind and include this in our yearly agenda. :)

Black Ribbons

It was a typical day in school so I decided to wear something that makes me happy. :)

When I saw this shirt, I became energetic and asked my mom to just give it to me. :) She arrived from Singapore at that time so she had clothes that she bought. :) Paired the shirt with a black skirt to achieve balance with the black ribbons. Used a belt to me more classic. :) The pink bag was actually one of my typical school bags. :) I bought it from Tiffany for only 1 peso :D (It's actually one of those stuff that she's no longer using.) and I loved it ever since. :)

UP Letterman Jacket

Finally able to get my UP Letterman Jacket that I ordered! :)

I love the jacket so much because it actually fitted me PERFECTLY (no exaggerations here)! I think the photos are proofs. :) I think I'll be using this one often because it's so comfortable and it's made of cotton! :) The purchase is worth it. :)

When my sister texted me that "The Son of Neptune" is available (at last) in National Book Store, I immediately went there and bought a copy! After the long wait, the second part of the series is out! :D Time to buy one folks! :) It's a great book, I'm telling you, But don't forget to read "The Lost Hero" first! :) Rick Riordan is just soooo awesome! :)

I'll be having an exam tomorrow, then another one on Thursday and then I'm free! :D Excited for sembreak because I've already planned all the things that I will be doing! :)

Day 11 Picture: A picture of something that you hate

At first i thought of putting sick people, child abuse, crimes, harassment, inequality and all the problems in society because I REALLY HATE IT. I don't want other people suffering while the others are enjoying. But suddenly I thought "Hey, everybody hates that. Who doesn't?" so I decided to not include it anymore. So maybe just think of that as something from me even if it's not the main feature in this entry because I really hate those things. :)

I thought of adding something that I hate that most people don't know. :) Something that's a little random. Something that's a little new. :) So what I hate is....

WASABI

Okay. No offense to the Japanese because I really LOVE their food (except this one). I know a lot of people love wasabi but I tried many times and it doesn't seem to suit my taste. Maybe that's life after all, people have different preferences. :) I love spicy food but maybe this one's not for me because the combination of tastes just doesn't please me. I remembered last time, I cried when I tasted this and it was such a bad memory. Hahaha. :)) Should I give it another try? :)

Brown + Black

I always want to have a black skirt in my closet so I bought one. After all, it's a necessity for every girl on earth. :) It's a basic so it could go with almost every outfit. Instead of just repeating a shirt+jeans routine on a everyday basis on college, why not pair a shirt with a skirt? :) Trust me, there's a high probability that no one will notice that you repeated a top! :)

To be honest, I used to think that buying this top was a mistake! I thought it looked good on me because my aunt said so but when I paired it with jeans, the top was so short for my torso. It's definitely one of the problems that a girl with a long torso like me faces. It actually looks so ordinary too but I like the design of the shirt infront :) I think it's cool. It's the fit and the length that I don't like. Solution? High waist skirt + belt! :) An ordinary piece improved! :) My blockmates even asked me where I got the shirt because it's nice I said "Sa tiyangge lang 'to sa Robinsons Cavite. Haha" and they actually didn't believe me at first! They thought it was branded! Haha.

I love this belt soooo much. :) It's simple. It's basic and it can go along with almost every outfit! :) Seriously, a girl needs every BASIC clothing in her closet. Clothes don't have to be expensive. They just have to go well with everything. :) Looking good is not all about wearing expensive clothes. It's all about confidence, simplicity and creativity! :) You could be simple and creative at the same time. Promise. :)

This is the skirt that I was talking about. :) I love the length of this dress as it basically falls just above my knees. For a conservative school girl like me who goes very conscious just by wearing short skirts (in school), this is a life saver!. :) I bought it in Robinson's Manila Department store from Never Been Kissed. They actually have beautiful clothes, and they are for my age! :D

At last! A UP Baller! I have been wanting one ever since I studied in UP but unfortunately, I was not able to buy in UP Manila when they were still selling it. So when we had our PE finals (blogged about it here) in UP Diliman, I immediately went to Maroons after and bought one! :D What do you think? :)

Basic skirt, shoes, belt, shirt, etc etc etc (as long as it's basic) are a must! :D They will never go out of style. :D Have a great week everyone! :D I'll be going back to Cavite tonight! :D

I know this challenge should be on an everyday basis but because of my schedule, I just can't do it. Haha. So I'm just continuing this whenever I wanted to have a break. :)

The challenge says that I should post "A" picture of the person who has gotten me through the most. Fortunately, I have more than one. I have loads of people in my life that stayed with me throughout so it is basically unfair to post only a single photo.

Orven G., a friend of mine way back in highschool and until now. We still have communcation and we update each others lives. :) Even though we study in different universities, we still get to see each other. After all, friendship doesn't end because of long distance right? :)

Jonah G., she's my first friend in MaSci. We actually live in the same subdivision so we go to school together. Throughout the four years of our lives we have been with each other. She may be studying in Diliman today but still, I love her so much. She's one of my friends whom I will never forget because of the happy and tough times that we have been together. I love you Jonah. >:D<

Syempre kung mayroong Orven, may Glenn Q. din! Haha. Jonah, Glenn and I used to go to school together. He's basically updated in the stuff that's going on in my life. Orven and he are ALWAYS (when I say always, I mean it) there to cheer me up and tease me until I CRY. Evil folks, but I love them. Hahaha! Until now, I am updated about the love issues, family and friends of this guy so basically we're still close even though we reached college. Hahaha!

Marian G. :D She's one of the most understanding girls that I know. We've been through tough times but we ended up being good. We go out (Marian, Katrina and I) and enjoy being with each other. I love this girl to pieces! :) I know that I would not be able to handle it if I lose communication with her. She has been like a sister to me for years and I know it would always be the same. :)

Katrina S. We used to call each other "cuz" way back in first year high school but as time went by, I treated her more than that. She became a sister for me. Basically when I hear the word "bestfriend", she's one of those persons who pops in my mind. We have been with each other through thick and thin and I hope we will always be with each other. She's one of those person whom I cherish the most and I love her soooo much. ♥

This "family" maybe one of the groups I've been in my life that taught me and made me who I am today. Yes, we shared the good times and the bad times like no other. We cried and laughed and even though it's not the same anymore (syempre that's life no. Hahaha), I would always look up to this as God-sent persons because I learned a lot from them. Up to now, Anne and Ivy still call me "mommy" and I have been in good terms and also friends with Ralph after everything. :) Thank God for them. :)

TOWNES!! :) They are the persons I have been with throughout my high school life. We have been classmates for three years and because of that, they became the family that I will always return to. I have been soooo close with lots of them so I'm talking about these persons as a group. Spending three years of my life (and counting) with them definitely helped me be better and achieve (and still strive) what I have been longing in my life. They made me feel loved and they are those persons that I really care about and that I'll always be willing to take care throughout the years. :) They are the family that's very special to me because we are one, and we love each other. :)

Last but not the least, MY FAMILY. I think there is no explanation needed about that. Family is where all of us should belong. :) Happy and Bad times? We are together. :)

So that's it! :) As you can see, "the most" does not only mean everyday and every moment for me. For me it's all about the good times as well as the bad times, the major and minor events in my life. :)

I went there together with my friends at 9 am, saw lot of alumni, watched the field demonstration and the program, then we left to get out UP Letterman Jacket (I finally got one! :)). Had lunch in KFC then went to UP for Math and Soc Sci Class. :) Surprised my friend, Tetel, because it's her birthday today and we were glad that our plans worked! :) Went to MaSci and was shocked to see my long lost friend, Hilen, I nearly cried when I saw her and I ran and hugged her soooo tight! Imagine having a friend who migrated to another country and can't be contacted for a long time? Oh how I missed her so much! I was even shaking when I saw her and then she said "pamangkin ko oh. " She even remembered our "tawagans" before. I really miss her. I LOVE HILEN. :( After that, I went to see Townes, my highschool classmates and "family", I also saw almost all of my close friends in MaSci like Ivy, Katrina, Tiffany, Jonah and Czarie. I miss them soooo much! Went out with Townes to Karate Kid then spent the moment sharing stories with them. :) After that, I went with my friend, August, to KFC because we still had stories to share with each other. That was fun because I had the chance to spill my kwentos! :) But still, the day has to end. I don't even want to part from them but I have to deal with reality! and now I'm here sharing my story. :)

If ever I'll be given a chance to study in MaSci again even for just a day, I'll take it. I miss my high school life. It's a life full of happiness, toxicity but still there is strength and determination. So to all those high school students who are rushing to get into college, don't! :) HIGHSCHOOL IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED INTO MY LIFE and I'm pretty sure most people would agree with me. :) It's where you'll start experiencing the greatest things that life has to offer. Believe me. :)

October 5, 2011 was the day stated in the calendar when the great Steve Jobs died at the age of 56. Yes, I may not be that familiar about him but when I got to know how he made a difference not just to the lives of others but also his own life, I admit that I admired him immediately.

He inspired many people to come out of the box and enjoy the world. His Apple business inspired different entrepreneurs and business-minded persons to take a risk and make a difference. He became an icon for people who failed and overcame the failure. He strived for the sake of having a proper education and that is saying something. He stood to defend his beliefs. Clearly the whole world grieved from the death of an honorable man. Those are enough evidences to show how he changed the world.

To Mr. Steve Jobs, you already left a legacy that will be cherished in people's hearts forever. Thank you for everything. and btw, you inspired me with thissss...

A Day of Philippine Games in UP Diliman

Last Sunday, October 2, 2010, we had our finals in our PE class which was Philippine Games in UP Diliman. It was really a fun experience, I really enjoyed a lot maybe that's why I was not able to take much pictures from the event but nevertheless, I would like to share these pics to you before I start my story. :)

When we went to the field (Sunken Garden), I saw these kids training in soccer. They were wonderful! Seeing kids spend time in sports, make it as their passion was indeed very inspiring. They were so cute and it's amazing that at a young age, they know how to playyy! Seriously, sports does not only improve out physical health, it's also about discipline and teamwork that's always very important in every team. :) They rocked it out! :)

One big reason why I love taking outdoor shots is THE SUN. I can't imagine my life without it. Yes, I admit that I hate it when it makes me feel hot sometimes but still, life will never be the same without it. :) At the end of the day, it's all about appreciating life and looking forward to seeing it the next day. :) I love the sun. :) It makes not only these pics, more beautiful. :)

The Sunken Garden aka Field. This is where our Philippine Game Finals was held. :) Can you believe that it rained hard while we were playing? We were soaking wet! But in connection to the UP tradition, rain or shine, the fun doesn't stop! :) Thank God for the rain, it became a very cool experience because we (my UPCN friends and I) partied in the field while being soaked in the rain and being dirtied by mud! Haha! We even ran at the field like little kids while playing with the mud! Plus, there was music, music that's good to our ears and we partied like there was no tomorrow! Whenever I will see this field again, I would always remember that beautiful moment. A moment when we appreciated life to the fullest. :)

I was actually touched when I bumped into these persons. See the persons inside the green heart? They are actually father and daughter. They have been running in UPD while laughing and bonding. When I saw them, I saw the love between family members and happiness that they have each other. It only shows that we should appreciate everyone in our lives because they will always be there to accompany us in life. :)

Change The Cap

Can you feel the G-tec fever? Are you one of those avid g-tec users? Well, hello there! :) We have something in common! I discovered something that might interest you. :)

Lately, I had the trouble about using my G-tect because I lost the cap! Well, it's my fault because I used the cap in replacement of another ballpen's cap but unfortunately, I lost the pen where I place it. You all know that G-tecs are a little expensive compared to other pens and if you're one of those who value G-tecs so much, you'll understand me why I can't use my G-tec without it's cap.

A few days ago, I found the solution to the problem! Instead of just buying another G-tec (oh no, another Php70 again), I found a way to replace the cap without buying a new one. Lately, I have been to National Book Store to buy some school supplies. During shopping, I came across with this pen that I liked at once! It's the Faber Castell Ball Pen 1423 in black. I tried using it and by the time that the ink was gone, I decided to bring my G-tec out again and see if I could so something about it. Then the brilliant idea just popped in my head! Why not place the Faber Castell's cap to my G-tec? It's worth the try.

So I began my experiment, and voila! It fitted perfectly. No, I am not exaggerating. You could see it for yourself! :)

See the magic? :) I know it's a small thing and it's very random but small random things could make a difference! Imagine if I spent another Php70 pesos for another pen? What a waste! I could just make myself resourceful. :)

Robinson's Manila was on sale last August so I grabbed the opportunity to roam around the mall and look for stuff that I could buy for myself. :) I finally got my hands to these skorts! :) I really want to try these things because they are not ordinary shorts, my blockmates even thought I was wearing a skirt, I really want to wear a skirt that's above the knee but everytime I try one, I get soooo conscious that I just end in not wearing them. So this skorts answered my number one problem! It's comfy, cool and unique! :)

Why I'm having some serious lack of posts these past few weeks...

Pardon me for the lack of posts these past few weeks because I have been so busy with school works and exam preparations. (Well a student have to be good right? :))

Well as you can see, I'm staying late in the night just because of reading books and absorbing loads of words. Well as a nursing student, I know I really have to study and read as much as possible. You see, I have to love what I'm doing because I know it's something that makes me feel fulfilled. :)

To give you an idea about a life of a dedicated student, I'll share some of the things that's keeping me busy as of the moment...

Philosophy 1

Finally decided to use post-its for added motivation as well as inspiration in studying. All I can say is that, I'm really loving it. :D

Yes. I know I have been looking like a stressed mammal but ofcourse when you want something done, you stick to your goal. :D

I'm still working out on other techniques to keep my 100% attention to reading at night but somehow I realized that the real inspiration is within the discipline of the person, and most importantly the blessings of God. :)

I have a lot of stuff to blog about and I'll post them maybe next time because I still have to study tonight to avoid cramming on weekends. :D Goodnight! :)

P.S. I'm dying to receive my Pottermore Email. :( I have been selected as one of those people who'll be able to have the privilege of early entry in Pottermore but the validation email hasn't arrive yet. *oooh nervous* but I'll think positive!! If Only (2004)

I want to blog about the movie that my dad has been recommending for months. He told me that I should watch it because it's really good and full of meaning. Knowing that my dad is such a movie critic, by the looks of it, if he liked the movie, then it's really good.

Since I finally had the time to watch the movie (I haven't got much time before because I was sooo busy with schoolworks), I decided to wake up early in the morning to watch it. All I can say is... my dad was right. It's really good and I told myself that I'd recommend it to everyone because it's something that you should not miss.

The movie was entitled "If Only". I was shown in the theaters on the year 2004 (I know, I watched it veryyy late but it's better late than never). Jennifer Hewitt and Paul Nicholls were the main casts for this movie. (May I just say that they've really shown an effective chemistry and Jennifer is sooo hot! Haha.)

It's basically about Ian Wyndham, a dedicated businessman, seeing the death of her girlfriend, Samantha, right after they had a fight. Ian was so heartbroken about the incident and he later found out that he was given a chance to relive that day and make things right to avoid Samantha's death.

Actually, Ian was taking Samantha for granted. He is always putting his work first before anything else. Yes, he loved Samantha so much that's why he was devastated after her death. When he had the chance to relive the day, he made things right by learning how to love Samantha, making her feel special, and treating her as his number 1 priority.

Since it's a movie that revolves in the pair, you will get to feel what they felt during the day. While watching the movie, I cried a lot because the movie gave me so much learning that I started analyzing myself if I'm taking my loved ones for granted. I felt like I was the character himself and I realize that I should show my appreciation to everyone in my life.

This a movie that everyone should see because it could teach you the most essential thing in life that you won't learn by just being inside the four corners of a classroom. When I watched, the lines that kept repeating in my mind were...

"Just appreciate her."

"Just love her."

and I guess that message is stated for everyone.

If you haven't watched the movie, watch it! You'll never regret it. You'll learn a lot and you'll realize that the most essential things in life are not the achievements, positions, and material things that we had. They are God, our loved ones, and ourselves.

UPCN CelebriTEA Party 2011

So what is this all about? :)

Every year, the UP College of Nursing celebrated numerous events that are in the tradition of the college, and one of these events is the CelebriTEA Party. It's more like an acquaintance party for the UPCN students where in every batch get the chance to perform onstage depending on the theme given. :) As for this year, the theme of the celebriTEA party is "CELEBRITEA NIGHT: ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET". We were asked to dress up like our favorite stars in the hollywood or even in the local philippine showbiz industry.

I had difficulty in thinking of what to wear since I really want to save money so I texted my cousin, Ate Vivian, for help because she has everything! From costumes, to clothes used for performances onstage! :) Surely, she is really my savior. :) She even suggested this crazy idea that I should dress up as Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson but I just can't do it because it's too far from my usual self (because of the fact that they're males) hahaha. So I asked my friends for suggestions and my bestfriend, Mara, suggested that I should be Katy Perry. :) Unfortunately, my cousin didn't have the clothes needed for Katy Perry so my friend, Tiffany, suggested that I wear Madonna. :)

and it was an instant yes! Tiffany searched for Madonna outfits that I could use as inspiration. :) She sent me the links and I really liked everything! :) Then I forwarded the links to my cousin and luckily, she had everything! :)

So here is the outcome of my costume.. WARNING: I am a little-not-me in the upcoming pics. :))

The outfit components (leather jacket, high waist shorts, blue and yellow corset, unique necktie) were all provided by my cool cousin. :) Actually every time there's an event and I really need to dress up, I always consult for for possible clothes that I could borrow since I really want to save money. Luckily, she'll give me everything I need and I should just buy the accessories and other things needed in the outfit like shoes, hats, etc. :)

In this case, I bought the hat, earrings, rings, belt, fishnet and boots. I also took care of the make-up neededI borrowed the gloves from my friend, Raiza. :) The wig was not the original wig that I planned to use because my cousin lent me another blonde wig with brown highlights in it but it doesn't fit the shape of my face so my friends advised that I wear this blonde one from my Aunt. :) I was supposed to have a staff with me but I just thought that it would be too much and I might go overdressed. I was wrong. Almost everyone came wearing their favorite shirts!

The result? I am no longer Madonna-like and I because difficult to recognize. Some even thought that I was Lady Gaga. Hahaha. But it turned out really well. :D Thank you friends!

Day 7 picture: A picture of your most treasured item

I don't really have a pic of all of my most treasured itemS (yes with "S" because I don't just treasure one thing in particular) but I really treasure my SAMSUNG CORBY 1, WALLET and CLOTHES. They are things that are necessities and that I can't live without. I know you understand what I mean. :)

but then I have other treasured items that I recently took pictures of. I treat these things as my most treasured items because they are products of my determination to save money and not just asking from my parents. :)

ofcourse I value my HP books collection that I shared in here because I really exerted much effort just to finally complete them. :)

Then last July 26, 2011, I finally got my orders from Freestyle Necklaces' (FSN) Harry Potter Necklaces Collection. Despite the bad weather (and classes were also suspended on that day), I made it to DLSU-Taft to meet Ms. Claudine Mijares, the proprietor of the online store.

Because HP Series is the trending topic after its phenomenal conclusion, FSN decided to sell their own HP necklaces collection. Actually the collection came with three designs: a HP logo, Deathly Hallows symbol, and Harry Potter's glasses. All of them were made of acrylic glass and they really came with silver chains. :) Let me show you...

I was also supposed to buy the HP logo necklace because I really think it's the coolest necklace of the three but unfortunately they decided to not include it in the second batch. I was not able to catch with the first batch because I forgot the date of release and after 30 minutes from release, all the necklaces were SOLD OUT!!! HP fans really took it to the highest level!!

After a short period of time, the HP collection of FSN was sold out because they just reproduced the necklaces due to public demand. The dealers of the merchandise were really very accommodating and I think that was one of the main factors why I pursued in buying the necklaces. :)

Freestyle Necklaces produces necklaces fit to give life to every outfit that you had. They are made to meet the quality that the buyers demand and they come with very reasonable prices. Just wanted to share this picture that I had with Ivy before watching Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in SM Manila Cinema 3. :) It was a very memorable moment and a very great experience. :)

I went there with Tiff and Ivy and we really had fun. :) I love being with those girls. :) I miss you both!! :D

P.S. I would NEVER support vandalism (and I was kinda disappointed cause the cubicle looked terrible) but the thing that made me happy about this is the fact that HP fans will always surprise me no matter what happens. :))

Imagine loving a movie for over a decade? Yes, I'm a certified potterhead and I am very proud that I am one. I watched the last movie of the series last night and I really cried a lot. Up to now, I can't express how much I will miss watching the movie in the theaters. When I woke up, despite my busy schedule, I managed to include Harry Potter in my list. I looked back on the great adventures and I would want to share the movie posters from the first movie up to now.

Clearly, a long time has passed since I met Harry Potter and from that moment, I never ceased loving it. I can't describe why but I felt like it brings out the best in me. It told me that I know how to love simple things in life and it made me strong for the past 12 years of my life. That's why I am so attached to it that words can't explain how feel right now. I feel happy because HP came into my life but I really feel sad because the last movie was over and there will be no more HP theater watching to look forward to. :(

I don't want to say goodbye and I will never say goodbye. I will just accept that there will be no more movies in the theater but I know that Harry Potter series will never leave my heart. It's a novel that will leave marks in my heart and memories in my mind that will take to everywhere I go even on the day that I will die.

Parang kailan lang, curious talaga ako sa kung anong meron sa Harry Potter tapos nung nauna kong basahin ang libro, minahal ko na agad at hindi na nawala ang pagmamahal ko para dito. Ang tagal na rin pala grabe hindi ko maimagine na halos buong buhay ko ay sinubaybayan ko ang HP. Maraming nawala sa akin sa buhay ko pero ang HP ay hindi ako iniwan. Sobrang thankful ako kay God kasi dinala niya ang HP sa buhay ko. Napakalaking factor nito kung bakit nagagawa kong magsaya sa buhay. :'(

I know maybe it's too much but I can't help but cry and get depressed. I feel like I won't be able to see a family member again (technically it's not about dying but it's about going into a different place which is far away). But there is one thing that I know, no matter what trend will be in the future, HP will always be my NUMBER ONE. I promise.

I can't describe what I am feeling right now but it is similar to something that I treat as a family and a bestfriend. To all the Harry Potter Series fans reading this, I know you understand me and I would love to hear words of comfort and inspiration from you. :)

So yes I'll try to get over from my depression and go sharing these epic pictures of the scenes in the best movie series conclusion of all time.

It's a very great movie and I think one of the best movies that I have ever seen. Even if I watch this a thousand times, I will never stop loving it. It will always be on the trend for me.

The actors and actresses, script, emotions, animations were well presented in the movie. It has some comedy part in it but I appreciated it well because if there will be none, I might just cry while watching. I love the ending too because it made me feel like there is more to come about the series and it may focus on Albus Severus.

To Ms. J.K.: could you please make another series related to Harry Potter? Maybe about Albus Severus? I would love to read more. Thank you for making Harry Potter. Thank you so much. :')

Another reason why I cried is because I reminisced the moments of the Harry Potter Trio and now I realized how much I grew with them in the past 10 years... I found these picture of them and I was soooo touched that I have seen them develop into great actors and actress after years. Take a look and look how much they have grown!!

I feel like I have been living with them throughout my life. I felt that I have been growing with them. THANK YOU DANIEL, RUPERT AND EMMA. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for being my role models. I really love the three of you. If ever you'll come here in the Philippines, I will be there to support you. What Education Is REALLY All About

When I visited The Official UPCN Group in Facebook, I came across with this link shared by one of the upperclassmen. I found myself thinking about how I really look into and value education and learning and unfortunately, I found my flaws and I am honest about it.

Before reading my opinions, you better read the article in here.

True enough, I admit that in some occasions, I am one of the young people who are enslaved with their grades. I fear of having the grade of 5 because I don't want to be delayed from graduating on time. I would admit that I am conscious of my grades not because of competition but because of me wanting to graduate on time. I mean, who wouldn't want to graduate on time right?

I love what I'm doing. It's just that I fear that I would result into a student who doesn't enjoy learning just because of the fear of grades. Back then, I was one of them. In my elementary days, I was surrounded by expectations from my parents, teachers, and friends. All people expected me to excel that's why grades matter to me A LOT in elementary.

When I reached high school, I became lesser grade conscious but I loss my good study habits on the latter part. I learned less and I was not the one who teaches but the one being taught. I know I have thoughts of "What if i studied well?". I had regrets because I didn't get what I wanted before. But you see, I never regretted much because in the end, even before graduation day, I became satisfied of the honors that I received because deep in my heart I know that this is the one I persevered for. I graduated in High School telling myself that "Heto na, heto na ang pinaghirapan ko."

I may not have graduated by belonging in the honorable mentions but the gold medal is a great reminder for me that I enjoyed learning and I overcame the shadow of being enslaved by grades and ranks for once in my life in high school.

Now I'm in college and I know that I really need to do well so I will not be delayed. I told myself that I will love what I will be studying and true enough, I started loving it. But sometimes I admit that I fear of not passing a certain subject. But when i read the article, my eyes were opened and I told myself "I don't want to stop learning."

I should not care much about grades. I should just care about learning. Just like Rancho in The 3 Idiots movie. I think everyone should start having this perception of life (including me). I need to be a student who just loves to learn and I hope when the right time comes, I will be one. I have to learn.

Mag-aaral ako dahil gusto ko hindi dahil sa kailangan ko pumasa. Kailangan kong sabihin ito sa sarili ko sa bawat araw at gabi ng buhay ko.

Sana nga hindi na lang nabuo ang grading system. Kasi nag-aaggree ako sa lahat ng bagay na sinabi sa article na yun. UP College of Nursing pride si Ate WOOOOO. Bow ako sayo ate.. SUPER.. Minulat mo ang mata at puso ko sa katotohanan. :)

To all my readers, I really need your help. I hope you'll be those people who'll remind me to study for my life and the life of others and not for my grades. Thank you. :)

When I saw these set of pictures in Yahoo News, I can't help but cry. See this young girl who is soo cute and always with a nice smile eventually had her dream come true. She wants to meet a real princess in she did! She met Kate Middleton!

While browsing the pictures and reading the text, I cried because of mixed feelings. Yes for joy because I saw the genuine smile from the child's face and I saw Kate and William being kind to the child and I know that God gave the child's wish for the time that she will remain on earth. Aww.

Yes, I was sad because of the truth that such a young and amazing girl inherited this cancer from her mother who just died when she was 16 months old and now that she's six, she had it too.

I hope the best for Diamond and I know that a very peaceful and happy place will be her home. And I know that she would always be with God and her mother. ♥

To Diamond, you inspired me a lot and you'll always be an inspiration for me to love what I'm doing. ♥ Continue inspiring others. God bless you!

This post came in time because next week I will be assigned in the Cancer Institute. I hope I'll do well in there and I know that I will no longer cry when I will be able to meet the cancer patients in PGH. If ever I will get the chance to interact with them, I will inspire them and make them happy. To be honest, I'm so excited to meet them. See, my aunt died with cancer that's why I know what those cancer patients are facing and I will take not to myself that I will support them to the end. I know God will always be with them.

July 1, 2011. I was able to bond with my 4th year classmates again! :) We ate at Karate Kid then we went to Jollibee to share each others' stories! :D I am soo happy that I saw them again because I miss them so much and I noticed that nothing changed that much, we're still the happy and energetic TAMATO people!! Love them!! :D
